The 71st International Executive Council Meeting and 5th African Regional Conference scheduled in December 2020 is cancelled due to the global spread of COVID-19 and the measures taken by national and local authorities to contain the spread of the disease. Since IEC meeting is mandatory to be held annually, ICID Management Board at its virtual meeting held on 17 September 2020 decided ICID Central Office to host the meeting on virtual platform in two sessions of two hours each on two consecutive days (7th and 8th December 2020). A detailed circular will be sent to all National Committees, Office Bearers, and partner organizations shortly.
The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) hosted by the FAO Land and Water Division collaborated with its partners has been designed to bring together key players across the globe and across sectors to tackle the collective challenge of using water better in agriculture to ensure food security for all. It is an initiative for partners from all fields and backgrounds to collaborate in supporting countries and stakeholders in their commitments and plans related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the Paris Climate Agreement and other plans and programmes related to agriculture and water.
During the Second Steering Committee meeting held on 2 September 2020 which comprises of 15 members elected President Felix Reinders as the new Chair of WASAG for the period 2020-2022. In his speech President Reinders stated “WASAG succeeds not because it is big or because it has been long established but because there are people building it, who live it, sleep it, dream it, believe in it and build great future plans for it .”

It also contains URL and QR code for accessing full version of the background papers, keynote addresses, and various papers presented at the Forum.
