ICID is a premier international organization striving to promote programs to enhance the global sustainable development of irrigated agriculture. As part of our flagship activities, we work closely in cooperation with various multilateral and bilateral organizations, commissions and international NGOs. Our associations also include relevant individuals, corporate leaders, and researchers within the water network.
The Commission has consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Health Organization (WHO), World Meteorological Organization (WMO), International Organization for Standardization (ISO). UNESCO is a permanent observer in the Commission’s IEC while UNDRO and WMO are represented in ICID’s technical work bodies. The Commission is one of the partner organizations of the UN-Water.
