Theme - Historical Water Sustainability
ICID’s Working Group on History of Irrigation, Drainage and Flood Control (WG-HIST) published ‘Historical Water Sustainability’ in 2023. The publication includes case studies of water schemes in more than 20 countries that have demonstrated sustainability traits. The publication aims to promote the practices and concepts of sustainable water management evident in the case studies reported, for the purpose of relieving and reducing the water stress being experienced by billions of people in many parts of the world.
