ICID Participation in ICOLD 2022 



President Dr. Ragab Signs MoU between ICID and ICOLD

During the 27th Congress and 90th Annual Meeting of ICOLD held in Marseille, France from 27 May - 3 June 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ICID and the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) to promote knowledge sharing, programs, and projects that foster cooperation between the two organizations, including the possibility of co-financing projects related to capacity development activities, technical support etc. in their common member countries.
The MoU was signed by President ICID Prof. Dr. Ragab Ragab and President ICOLD - Dr. Michael Rogers on 30 May 2022.


President Dr. Ragab Participated in the Roundtable on "Dams and reservoirs, the challenges of tomorrow"

As part of the 27th Congress and 90th Annual Meeting of ICOLD held in Marseille, France from 27 May - 3 June 2022 organized a roundtable meeting on "Dams and reservoirs, the challenges of tomorrow". President Prof. Dr. Ragab participated in this important meeting and highlighted the role of dams and reservoirs in meeting the world's food demands.

ICID Sponsorship to Young Professionals to Attend the 24th ICID Congress & 73rd IEC Meeting, 3-10 October 2022, Adelaide, Australia


ICID established the ICID Young Professionals’ e-Forum (IYPeF) in 2014 intending to provide an international platform to young engineers/scientists/professionals for their career development and sharing of knowledge and experiences in the areas of irrigation, drainage, flood management and environment.

As part of the ICID's commitment to encourage and promote a high standard of professional development amongst the young professionals in the field of irrigation, drainage, and flood management, 10 young professionals are selected for a scholarship to attend the 24th ICID Congress and 73rd IEC Meeting, 3-10 October 2022 at Adelaide, Australia. The selected young professionals are:

1.            Mr. M. Abdur Rakib (Bangladesh)

2              Eng. (Ms.) Aya Mohamed Hassan Ali Elkhouly (Egypt)

3              Dr. (Ms.) Heidi Pihla Hannele Salo (Finland)

4              Ms. Kondeti Kanaka Durga (India)

5              Ir. (Ms.) Siti Hawa Adila Binti Mohd Yusof (Malaysia)

6              Engr. Mustapha Usman Khalil (Nigeria)

7              Mr. Basit Hussain (Pakistan)

8              Mr. Evgenii Ratkovich (Russia)

9              Mr. Muhandiramge Don Janaka Priyantha Wickramasooriya (Sri Lanka)

10           Mr. Rauf Yuldashev (Tajikistan)

In addition, 10 young professionals are also selected from the African Young Water Professional Forum (Af-YWPF) to attend the Adelaide event with the support of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), and Virtual Irrigation Academy (VIA).
