Visitors to ICID Central Office

The ICID Central Office welcomes a diverse range of visitors, including ICID management, past office bearers,  Members of ICID National Committees (NCs) who represent their countries generally include multi-disciplinary professionals such as planners and policy makers; water managers; irrigation and agriculture engineers; research scientists and educationists working in the related areas, partner organizations, members of international organizations, companies, institutions and individual experts in irrigation and drainage. These visits offer valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and discussions on advancing sustainable agriculture water management practices including rain-fed agriculture, supplemental irrigation, deficit irrigation and full irrigation besides focus on drainage of agricultural lands and the management of extreme climate events such as flood and droughts.

 

 

 


Hon. Karlene Maywald Water Ambassador, Department for Environment and Water, Government of South Australia and Mr. Kamran Khan, Head-India, Department of State Development-Government of South Australia visited the ICID Central Office 5 March 2025. She was welcomed by the Secretary General Dr. R.K Gupta and discussed various issues including bipolar collaboration of Australia Government, Indian Government, and ICID in Water and Agriculture Sector. ICID  Honorary President Prof. Dr. Chandra A. Madramootoo Visited the ICID Central Office on 27 February 2025 and held discussions with Secretary General Dr. R.K Gupta on strengthening of ICID activities particularly in American region. For more information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 On 17th Feb 2025, Mr. Mark Smith (DG, IWMI) and Dr. Alok Sikka (Country Rep, IWMI) visited the ICID Central Office. They met with Dr. R.K. Gupta (Secretary General, ICID) to discuss strengthening collaboration on sustainable water use, irrigation, and agriculture in the face of climate change and water scarcity.
