DHAN Foundation works on poverty eradication and sustainable development through community empowerment. To date, it has served over 49.81 lakh families, with 5.89 lakh self-declaring they have “Moved out of Poverty” (MoP) as of October 2023. DHAN’s thematic reach spans across 16 states of India, empowering women through Kalanjiam (SHG-based financial initiatives) and Vayalagam (advancing grassroot level water conservation), CALL (Coastal Conservation and Livelihoods), Rainfed Agriculture Development and Climate Change Adaptation tackle environmental challenges at grassroot level.

Adopting a river basin approach, DHAN builds people’s institutions at the grassroots level, fostering local ownership and sustainability. Across 17 river basins, DHAN has restored over 6,000 traditional waterbodies, benefiting close to 0.5 million small and marginal farmers through Vayalagam water user associations and agricultural finance groups. Mr. Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog,stated that "DHAN Foundation's water programme models need to be replicated across the state."DHAN’s water conservation model, acknowledged by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and NITI Aayog, has notably conserved 22.95 billion liters of water across 14 blocks in a year. Its financial inclusion initiatives have enabled members to save Rs. 1010 Cr., access Rs.2200 Cr. in loans, and secure over 1 crore insurance policies.With affiliations to international networks like UN-ECOSOC and the Global Water Partnership, DHAN International’s value-driven strategic focus on policy advocacy, water resource renovation, and social enterprise highlights its commitment to scaling up sustainable solutions internationally.

Dr. Priju C.P leads the Groundwater Hydrology section of the CWRDM, Kozhikode. Over the last fourteen years, his work has focused on managing groundwater resources of Kerala and Lakshadweep region, integrated water resources management; aquifer management; artificial aquifer recharge; coastal hydrogeology and saline water intrusion; and groundwater source identification using geological and geophysical methods and source sustainability issues. He led the team that prepared several consultancy projects of CWRDM funded by state, central and private agencies and later also in the implementation team. Dr.Priju C.P. has executed 6 research projects and 3 projects are ongoing as Principal Investigator. Three projects are funded by DST-SERB and one is currently under execution. Remaining six projects are funded by KSCSTE-CWRDM of which 2 are currently under execution. He has 60+ publications as journal articles, books chapters, conference papers, reports and knowledge products. He has visited several universities and research institutes across India for attending conferences and meetings. Prior to joining CWRDM, he worked as a project scientist and adhoc faculty in Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics, Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has also worked as Hydrogeologist in Kerala State Rural Supply and Sanitation (KRWSA) project funded by World Bank. Dr. Omotayo Babawande Adeboye, a Nigerian born about 48 years ago is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Agricultural Engineering) in 2001 and a Master of Engineering (Soil & Water Engineering) in 2005 from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. In the year 2015, he completed his PhD programme in Land and Water Development at the Institute for Water Education, IHE Delft in collaboration with Wageningen University, the Netherlands with full sponsorship from the Netherland Fellowship Programme. He holds a diploma in Social-Economic and Natural Sciences of the Environment (SENSE) from the Netherlands SENSE Research School in 2015. His research focuses on the optimization of water resources for agriculture at a basin scale. Dr. P. L. Patel is Professor (HAG) of Hydraulics and Water Resources in Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, India. He has recently been appointed as Deputy Director of SVNIT, Surat, India. Prior to joining SVNIT in 2007, he worked as Reader, Civil Engineering Department in Delhi College of Engineering (now DTU) for eight years. Prior to working at DCE, he served as Assistant Executive Engineer in Border Roads Organization (BRO) from 1995-1999. He did his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Government Engineering College, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India and, then, pursued his Master and Doctoral Degrees in Civil Engineering from the, then, University of Roorkee, now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India.
He has more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences of repute. He has guided more than 9 PhD and 39 M.Tech Theses. He has also served in various academic positions in SVNIT Surat such as Dean (Academics), Head of Civil Engineering Department, Dean (Research & Consultancy), Dean (PG), etc. He was also instrumental in setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on 'Water Resources & Flood Management' as Project coordinator in the Institute through a research grant from World Bank sponsored TEQIP-II. Dr. P.V. Timbadiya is Associate Professor in Water Resources Engineering Section, Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, India. He secured his Post-Graduation and Doctoral degree in Water Resources Engineering from SVNIT Surat in 2004 and 2012 respectively. He did his Under Graduation in Civil Engineering from Sardar Vallbhbhai Regional College of Engineering Technology (now SVNIT). Prior to joining SVNIT Surat in March 2009 as Assistant Professor, he has also worked with S.V.M. Institute of Technology Bharuch, Gujrat, India in the same capacity.

His research expertise is flood modeling, hydrologic modeling, climate change impact assessment, morphology of rivers, water distribution network analysis and design. He is currently guiding six Doctoral Scholars and has already guided 21 M.Tech dissertations. He is also actively involved in research and consultancy activities, the prominent being 'Design of water related infrastructure (water distribution, sewerage network and storm water network) for Dholera Smart City' and Geomorphologic study of Tapi River using GIS and Remore Sensing. He has more than 17 publications in a reputed international journal (SCI/SCOPUS).

He was appointed as National Consultant for Kalpsar Project by Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department of Govt. of Gujarat. Dr. Timbadiya is a Charted Engineer of Institution of Engineers, Kolkata, India. He is a recipient of the Best Case Study Award - 2015 award by the American Society of Civil Engineers and also the Young Engineers Award by the Institution of Engineers (India) in the Year 2015. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1983 from Diponegoro University, then taught at the UNDIP Polytechnic at that time for 2 years after participating in preparation at PEDC Bandung. Then I left the world of civil engineering for 10 years because I entered the congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence as a nun. In 1994, I returned to teaching at Soegijapranata Catholic University until 2002. In 1997-1999, I continued my studies at IHE-Delft in the Master of Science program, Hydraulic Engineering, branch Land and Water Development. In 2002-2016 I taught at Widya Mandira Catholic University Kupang and 2016-2019 at Flore University, Ende. In 2005-2009 I continued my doctoral studies in Water Resources Engineering at Parahyangan Catholic University. In addition to teaching, I am heavily involved in KNI-ICID, HATHI and KNIBB activities, as well as drought, raw water and irrigation study projects in NTT. My thesis is about small design irrigation in East Timor, while my dissertation is related to rainwater management for agriculture in dry areas of small islands.
