Dr. Omotayo Babawande Adeboye, a Nigerian born about 48 years ago is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Agricultural Engineering) in 2001 and a Master of Engineering (Soil & Water Engineering) in 2005 from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. In the year 2015, he completed his PhD programme in Land and Water Development at the Institute for Water Education, IHE Delft in collaboration with Wageningen University, the Netherlands with full sponsorship from the Netherland Fellowship Programme. He holds a diploma in Social-Economic and Natural Sciences of the Environment (SENSE) from the Netherlands SENSE Research School in 2015. His research focuses on the optimization of water resources for agriculture at a basin scale. He is a member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers, and the Nigerian Society of Engineers and registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria. His ambition is to research the sustainable management of land and water resources to ensure food and energy security in Africa.
