Sir Ronald   East

Sir Ronald East, Born on 17 June 1899 in Australia, Educated on scholarships at Scotch College, Melbourneand at the Melbourne University from which he graduated as Bechelor of Civil Engineering in 1922 and Master of Civil Engineering in 1927. Sir Ronald East was awarded (i) Kernot Memorial Medal (University of Melbourne) 1949 (ii) Peter Nicol Russel Memorial Medal (Institution of Engineers, Australia) 1957 (iii) Sir James Barrett Award (Town and Century Planning Associatioin) 1960 (iv) Cooper`s Hill Mar Memorial Medal and Premium and Telford Premium (Institution of Civil Engineers) 1932. He was Commissioner, representing State of Victoria, River Murrey Commission 1936-65; Chairman, State River and Water Supply Commission of Victoria 1936-65; President Institution of Engineers, Australia 1952-53; Member of the Council of the Institution of Civil Engineers 1960-61 and Vice President, International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage 1959-62.
