Mr. J.P. Naegamvala  

Mr. J.P.Naegamvala was born in Poona on 27 February, 1919 and was educated in Poona and Bombay. He took his B.E. degree in Civil Engineering in 1940 after a brilliant academic career. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was member, Central Water and Power Commission. Prior to April 1970, he was Chief of Irrigation Division of the Indian Planning Commission. He was Chief Engineer (Irrigation Projects) and Joint Secretary to the Government of Gujarat and was associated with the major irrigation development in that state. He was Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering Poona. He was Vice President ICID from 1973-1976.
