Brief Profile
Prof. Volker was born in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) on 3 July, 1917. After Primary education in the Netherlands and in France and secondary education in The Netherlands, he entered the Delft University of Technology in 1934 and graduated in 1940 as "Civil Engineer". He was senior engineer for foreign relations in the Directorate for Water Management and Hydraulic Research of Rijkswaterstaat. He attended almost all the Congresses and IEC meeting since 1960. He was member of Permanent Paper Committee since 1966 (Now PCTA) and Chairman 1976-1978. He was author of various publications in the field of hydrology, geophysical prospecting, reclamation, delta development, etc. He was Vice President of ICID from 1980-1981.
