Mr. McAndrews was born in Retlaw, Alberta (Canada) on 12 June 1926. He graduated in Agriculture from University of Alberta in 1950, received a Master`s of Agriculture degree from Colorado State University in 1962, and in 1968 he got Diploma in Management from Banff School of Advanced Management. He was President University of Alberta Alumni Association (1973-1974); Member, University of Alberta Senate (1972-1974); Member, St. Michelles Hospital Board of Directors Lethbridge (1963-1966); Member. Canadian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage from 1976 onward. He held professional membership with Agricultural Institute of Canada, Alberta Institute of Agrologists. He was Vice President of ICID from 1980-1983.
