Brief Profile
Mr. Carvalho was born on 3 June 1934. He graduated as an Agricultural Engineer in 1959, Recife-Pernambuco, Brazil. He attended one year course in irrigation and agricultural development in USA in 1965 In 1968 he was appointed Executive Secretary of the Interministerial Group on Irrigation for Agricultural Development (GEIDA). He was Assistant to the Planning Director Company for the Development of the Sao Francisco Valley; Me mber of the Commission No.08 of the Brazilian Association for Technical Norms for Irrigation Equipment; Deputy President of the Brazilian National Committee, ICID. He was Vice President ICID from 1986-1989.
