Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Dirksen

Born February 1940, obtained his Diploma in civil engineering from University of Karlsruhe and Doctorate in water resources management from University of Stuttgart. Dr. Dirksen has been associated with planning and design of waste water treatment plans, water supply systems (1967-70), and has worked as Senior Engineer and Assistant Professor at Institut fr Wasserbau, University of Stuttgart (1970-77), and Managing Director and Member, Executive Board, German Center for International Training in Water and Waste Water Management (DZWA) from 1989-91. He has been associated with ICID since 1980 in various capacities such as Secretary of German National Committee of ICID; Member, Committee on Research and Development (1984-90); Member and Chairman of Working Group on Publication (1989-95); and Chairman of European Regional Working Group since 1995. Dr. Dirksen is presently Managing Director of German Association for Water Resources and Land Improvement (DVWK) since 1980. He was Vice President of ICID from 1996-1999.
