Cotton has exercised a profound influence throughout the man's civilization. Despite the growth and spread of synthetic fibre and nylon textiles, cotton has the pride of first place among the cash crops. Very rapid progress in cotton growing calls for advanced technology and practices. At the end a bibliography of 603 references has been compiled.
